Construction Has Kicked Off For Levain Bakery’s Philly Location On Walnut St
The NYC-based cookie company will be moving into the stylish atrium formerly occupied by MySuit.
Just when you thought Rittenhouse had plenty of cookie-centric stores beyond Insomnia, like Blueprint and the coming-soon Taylor Chip, we have yet another option: Levain Bakery, the brand known for its delicious and huge cookies.
October Update: Levain is open! Check it out here.
September Update: It’s looking SOOOOO good! ANYTIME NOW, right? Right?!
August Update: If you didn’t know they were coming you do now! 10/10 for stellar “coming soon” branding and delicious cookie imagery.
July Update: From our peek inside the space, it’s clear that Levain is spending time and energy to make sure the Philly store looks great. The foreman shared that they should be done in roughly 10 weeks, and that this location “is going to be the best Levain in the world” and we believe him.
JUNE UPDATE: Construction is coming along very nicely!
As mentioned in our recent coverage of everything that’s closed, opened and is coming up, the brand much loved by New Yorkers, and those who happened to have lived in New York, is coming to the corner of Walnut and S Sydenham Street, right across from Chipotle.
From the Philadelphia Business Journal:
“Renderings of the proposed bakery shown during the meeting depict an interior with counter service and stool seating for customers. Ron Patterson, an attorney at Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg who is representing Levain Bakery, said during the meeting that the company is proposing a fourth-quarter 2024 opening and hours of operation from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.”
The space looks bright, airy, and gorgeous. The article does mention that they plan to keep the style intact. Oh, and The Today Show site has the backstory on its founders.
We’ll be sure to share construction updates on social because we’re SUPER nosy, so make sure to follow us!
