The Hat Trick Edition: Welcome to May’s Fond Farewells, Friendly Hellos & Focus on the Future
The World Cup, America’s 250th, and the MLB All-Star Game are all coming to Philly — and Rittenhouse is already warming up with 7 openings and 30 in the pipeline.
May in Rittenhouse had exactly one thing on the brain: company’s coming!
And not the “wipe down the counters before the in-laws swing by” kind, but the one anticipating that the entire PLANET is about to show up. Between the FIFA World Cup, America’s 250th, and the MLB All-Star Game, Philly somehow booked all three blockbusters into a single summer. That’s a hat trick (three goals, one game, hats raining down from the stands), and Rittenhouse spent the month sprinting to be ready for its close-up.
So here’s who tapped out, who suited up, and who’s still in the tunnel waiting to get subbed in.
- The tough ones first. May had some gut punches — and not all voluntary. The Black Sheep got hit with a fire (then a 2am rekindle, because the universe has jokes), while water damage sidelined JD Sports and Time Mission. All three are fighting to come back. On the permanent side: &pizza’s Chestnut corner, A La Mousse, Pandora, Shay’s Steaks & More, and Underoutfit. Final count: 8 off the board, 3 just benched.
- Now the fun part. A whopping 7 spots opened their doors, a giant leap from April’s 2, and the roster is STACKED! Mitchell & Ness unveiled their stunning three-story flagship just in time for the sportiest summer in Philly history, Toast brought very-British slow fashion to a Locust Street brownstone, Tipsy Scoop slid its boozy “barlour” into BOTLD, Palm Vintage began its double life across from City Hall, and Vita Sana glowed up the old Good Karma corner. Toss in returning summer ringers Cafe Click and Frankie’s Summer Club, and the outdoor-spritz season starting lineup is officially set!
- And the bench? Deep. The pipeline ballooned back up to THIRTY concepts. The headliner? After four decades of last calls, the Irish Pub finally has a new owner, and NYC’s Blank Street is making its way over. Also, a mysterious ice cream called Winners is debuting next month
One block to watch. If Market Street was last month’s frontrunner, May belonged to Sansom Street who’s quietly morphing into the neighborhood’s even busiest stretch with Frame, Bar Cicci, Liquorette, O’Morrey’s, and a still-extremely-TBD sports bar at The Josephine, all within a few doors of each other.
Read on for the full rundown — and as always, tips, intel, and typo catches go to rittenhouseramblings@gmail.com. We appreciate you!
Fond Farewells – Temporary:
Black Sheep | 📍247 S 17th St

One of Rittenhouse’s most beloved pubs had a rough night on May19th. Actually, make that two rough nights. Per 6ABC, crews were first called to The Black Sheep around 9PM that Monday. Then at 2AM — because apparently the universe wasn’t done — the fire briefly rekindled, forcing crews to return. Cleanup and inspections are still underway and the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
The silver lining? The team has their sights set on a comeback, with the World Cup’s arrival in Philly serving as the motivating deadline, and we are fully manifesting it. The MUFC Philly group has set up a GoFundMe here if you want to help make that happen. In the meantime, we’re ending ALL the good vibes their way!
You can stay on top of developments via their Insta here.
JD Sports & Time Mission | 📍1530 Chestnut St

Don’t let this dampen your spirits, but water damage has temporarily taken out both JD Sports AND Time Mission — two of the newer additions to the Chestnut Street corridor — at the same time. Both are in cleanup and recovery mode, and Time Mission’s Yelp page has a July 1st return date flagged, though we’ll update you if they’re back sooner.
Rooting for a speedy comeback for both!
Fond Farewells:
&Pizza | 📍1800 Chestnut St

Saturday morning emails are usually newsletters you forgot you subscribed to and a Venmo request from that one friend. But some members (not bitter at all!) got something a little different this morning: a goodbye note from &pizza’s Chestnut Street location.
While we’re sad to see those oblong pies and their new pizza sticks leave the block, the 15th Street location is still very much alive, still very much slinging garlic knots, and still open until 3am on weekends. On the corporate side, &pizza has been in the middle of a pretty major glow-up-slash-restructuring. They closed 13 locations nationally in 2024, just launched their first-ever franchising program, and acquired Tex-Mex chain Tijuana Flats. So lots of irons in the fire and unfortunately, this location didn’t make the cut.
This is a heavily trafficked corner so we don’t expect it to stay empty for long, but we will miss the very friendly staff who ALWAYS nailed our order.
A La Mousse | 📍1622 South St

Six years of matcha crepe cakes, mango mousse, polar bear desserts, and the kind of French-meets-Asian sweets that made this block feel like a tiny detour to somewhere more whimsical but alas, A La Mousse is closing its South Street doors. The Chinatown sibling opened here in 2019, sliding into a former bakery space, and built something genuinely lovely. The Chinatown location will carry on, which somewhat softens the blow.
Thank you for the crepe cakes and adorable animal pastries — you will be greatly missed!
Pandora | 📍1613 Walnut St

At first glance, it looked like the Pink Panther had struck on Chestnut Street, but the sign on the door tells a different story. After 10 years, Rittenhouse’s Pandora has gone dark.
The jewelry chain was basically a neighborhood institution for every gift-giving holiday on the calendar — Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, the “I forgot our anniversary” scramble. If you’ve ever panic-bought a charm bracelet, you know exactly which storefront we mean.
The space has had a lot of lives: before Pandora, it was hibachi steakhouse and sushi bar Wok, and Calypso St. Barth was there for a HOT minute. And anyone who made a pilgrimage to American Apparel back in the day knows exactly which corner of Chestnut we’re talking about.
We’ll keep you posted on what’s next for the space!
Shays Steaks & More | 📍1526 Sansom St

Boy, has 1526 Sansom seen some action lately — and we’re not just talking about the fact that Sansom Street on a Friday night basically runs itself.
Philly Insider shared that Shay’s Steaks & More, the Rittenhouse extension of the Logan Square original, had closed. It opened in the former Bagels & Co. space last spring, so it got a solid year in, but the baton has been passed…and passed to someone interesting: the space is becoming a ghost kitchen for Revolution House Pizza & Steaks, which is currently operating out of Revolution House in Old City. So the cheesesteaks aren’t going anywhere — they’re just going invisible.
Meanwhile, No Name Hospitality is quietly making Rittenhouse a habit: Frame is also heading to the lower level of the building as Frame Midtown. Two concepts, one address, zero chill.
If there’s one thing 1526 Sansom has proven, it’s that it never stays quiet for long.
Underoutfit | 📍1611 Walnut St

Only in Rittenhouse can a block pull off four brand eras without skipping a beat, and 1611 Walnut (and Walnut in general!) has become the neighborhood’s unofficial but kind of official DTC proving ground. First there was menswear brand UNTUCKit, then ThirdLove, and most recently Underoutfit — the no-wire, no-padding comfort brand that made its first-ever brick-and-mortar debut right here last November.
Apparently, the space is leased through Leap, a platform that handles everything from the lease to staffing to day-to-day operations for digitally-native brands testing the physical retail waters. Think of it as the WeWork of DTC retail — brands plug in, set up shop, and see what happens. Not sure what success looks like to Leap but, either way, whoever’s next is already in a pipeline somewhere, and we’ll be watching the windows.
To the Underoutfit team: you were wonderful, and we hope whatever comes next is even better!
Friendly Hellos:
Cafe Click | 📍1701 JFK Blvd

Mais oui, she’s back! One of our fave seasonal Parisian pop-ups, Cafe Click, returned to the Comcast Center plaza, complete with linen canopies, bistro chairs, layered greenery, and a menu of savory crêpes, charcuterie, and low-proof aperitif cocktails that make a Tuesday lunch feel like a petit vacation.
Runs Monday–Friday, 11am–8pm, June through September. We did a full deep dive last summer — worth a read before you go. À bientôt, Café Click!
Frankie’s Summer Club | 📍355 S 15th St
The secret garden is back, and better than ever! Frankie’s Summer Club has returned to the courtyard of the former UArts campus for its second summer, and if last year was the debut, this year is the victory lap.
The vibe if you haven’t been is pretty neat: a canary yellow pavilion inspired by Louis Kahn’s unrealized vision for the site, serpentine seating, lush greenery, sandwiches, soft serve, and a natural wine list that pairs perfectly with doing absolutely nothing on a Wednesday evening. Oh, and there’s now a live music series every Saturday at 5pm — because of course there is.
Membership is free, dogs are welcome, and the espresso martini is still very much on the menu. We did a full deep dive last summer, so be sure to check it out before you head off to welcome them back!
Mitchell & Ness |📍1513 Walnut St
It’s officially, finally, absolutely HERE. Mitchell & Ness opened the doors to their brand new three-story, 16,000-square-foot flagship on Walnut Street this weekend, in the former Brooks Brothers space.
The bi-level retail floors are exactly what you’d, we’d, and pretty much any sports fan could hope for: over 2,200 square feet dedicated to jerseys alone, plus every piece of Birds green, Phillies red, and Sixers blue your heart could possibly desire. The third floor is an event space for fan experiences, trading card events, and community programming, which feels very right for a brand that’s been part of this city’s sports DNA since 1904 (!!) The timing is also chef’s kiss: FIFA World Cup, MLB All-Star Game, America’s 250th…basically, the fun has JUST started.
Palm Vintage |📍 1414 S Penn Sq

Day job: charming café. Night job: sushi and cocktails. Palm Vintage is leading quite the glamorous double life right across from City Hall, and we are very much here for it!
The former Waterfront Deli has been reimagined as a European café from 7am, where you can linger over an espresso and work through a pastry case, or take it to go. The evening sushi and cocktails are pending City approval, but when the green light comes — walk-ins only, stay as late as 2am. You can find all those details and more in our deep dive here because in-person research, particularly when it comes to cafes, is SUPER important.
Tipsy Scoop @BOTLD |📍1518 Chestnut St

JUST in time for summer, Tipsy Scoop’s barlour has landed at BOTLD, and the synergy is genuinely on fire. Bird Gang bottles on one side, boozy ice cream made fresh in-house on the other, with flavors clocking in up to 5% ABV. Philly Phreeze (a spiked water ice, basically engineered for a July afternoon), Bird Gang Blackout, and a rotating case that proves someone in this city is always thinking ahead.
The line on opening day said everything. Rittenhouse has fully adopted this one — and honestly, same. Full deep dive here.
Toast |📍1631 Locust St

Rittenhouse just got a wee bit more British. Toast, the beloved UK lifestyle and slow fashion brand, has softly opened its first Philly boutique in one of Locust Street’s most beautiful historic brownstone, and the former Usona furniture showroom that went dark last fall.
The vibe is less “retail store,” more “stepping into a very well-curated home that you never want to leave.” Clothing, homeware, ceramics, curated accessories, and an archive room featuring pieces from past collections — all tied together in a space that makes the case that good design genuinely doesn’t expire. If you’re curious, you can see our exploration of the store here.
Vita Sana |📍2319 Walnut St
The wait is over! Vita Sana has officially opened next door to CityCoHo, sliding into the former Good Karma Cafe space with exactly the kind of energy that area of Walnut Street needed — açaí bowls, fresh salads, wraps, and coffee that makes eating well genuinely easy and fun at the same time.
Think of it as your new desk-adjacent or even replacement life upgrade: everything you need to fuel a long work session without the guilt spiral of whatever you grabbed in a hurry. It also offers plenty of indoor seating and even outdoor, making work-from-cafe a lovely option.
Welcome to the block, Vita Sana!
Focus on the Future:
7th Street Burger |📍1518 Chestnut St

The New York to Philly pipeline shows no signs of slowing down. 7th Street Burger, an NYC smash burger joint that’s built a cult following on no-frills patties and big flavor, is heading to the former Amma’s space on Chestnut Street. Amma’s, of course, moved to the much larger (and swankier) ex-Max Brenner’s space on 15th — so dosas out, doubles in.
7th Street Burger is known for keeping things simple: smash patties, melty cheese, soft buns, and not much else. Think of it as the anti-$22-burger — which, honestly, feels like a welcome addition to a neighborhood that doesn’t lack for upscale dining but could always use another solid, no-nonsense option. ETA is still TBD — we’ll keep you posted!
Ayat |📍2021-23 Sansom St

The New York to Philly (and vice versa) love continues with the long, long, long in the making arrival of Ayat, a Palestinian restaurant with many locations in the even longer-vacant Roxy Theater space. Construction has hit MANY snags, however, they are still focused on Philly and it’s definitely happening in 2026, as you can see from our VERY recent peek into the window.
Once again, we’re sending them all the positive vibes but it’s looking more and more like it’s going to be this summer!
Bar Caviar | 📍256 S. 16th St

File this in news that would have thrilled Robin Leach if he was still with us – Per The Inquirer, Rittenhouse is getting its own champagne wishes and caviar dreams fulfilled as boutique hotel The Dwight D will be debuting Bar Caviar. An intimate hotel set in an 1840s row home, they’ll have a wide array of champagne bottles and by the glass, varieties of caviar, oysters and crudo, plus small plates.
ETA is now June!
Bar Cicci | 📍1620 Sansom St

Well, well, well — the Rittenhouse game of Clue is getting clearer! When we last checked in, Ellen Yin was returning to the neighborhood with an Italian concept at The Josephine, but details were scarce. Now we have a name and a vibe: meet Bar Cicci, an all-day cafe! Days will bring Italian-inspired pastries, focaccia sandwiches, and espresso drinks; evenings flip the script into an aperitivo bar with wine, cocktails, cicchetti, and snacks. Basically, it’s the kind of place you can pop into at 9am for a cornetto AND at 7pm for a spritz, which honestly sounds like a perfect day.
ETA is May/June!
Bathhouse | 📍1414 Walnut St

Walnut by Broad had been empty for some time before Flight Club Darts opened last year, joined later by 7th Avenue. And now the scaffolding around The Bellevue is down, construction for Mr. Edison continues, and in other great news, New York wellness cult favorite Bathhouse is coming to town! Moving into the beautiful and over-5-years-empty PRIOR Tiffany’s location, Bathhouse isn’t your average cucumber-water-and-whisper spa. Full details on what to expect here.
ETA is this summer!
Biederman’s | 📍276 S 20th St

Expanding on the caviar kiosk outside The Four Seaons, Lauren Biederman is bringing her hand-sliced smoked fish empire to Rittenhouse this spring, claiming the iconic corner that once housed Audrey Claire, and then Charley Dove. Expect smoked salmon, sable, gravlax, caviar, bagels, and lox – all the good things in life, basically!
ETA was April, but construction timelines in this city run on their own schedule (see: literally every other entry on this list). We’re watching the windows and know they’ll open any day now!
Blank Street | 📍 1801 Spruce St

The green is already on the windows at the former Starbucks corner of 18th & Spruce. Blank Street — the NYC matcha-and-espresso chain known for its sage storefronts and seriously photogenic drinks — is coming this summer as their 2nd Philly location (should have been first but, whatever, we’re unashamedly biased). We’re providing construction updates here, so grab your other coffee as you check it out!
ETA is THIS summer!
Call Your Mother | 📍 262 S. 19th St

Okay, so we already poured one out for Metropolitan Bakery closing its doors after 32 years — but the good news is, the space didn’t sit empty for long. Call Your Mother, a popular Washington D.C.-based “Jew-ish” bagel deli (emphasis theirs), is moving in and bringing ALL the energy with it. Think bagel sandwiches, latkes, coffee, and a signature West Palm Beach color scheme: hot pinks and seafoam blues for miles! Metropolitan Bakery’s own cofounder personally handed over the keys — so this feels less like a goodbye and more like a really good handoff.
ETA is August!
Carolyn’s Modern Vietnamese | 📍 2015 Walnut St

After a decade of serving tacos that somehow made sense with Peking duck and Korean BBQ (the food truck era was wild, you guys), the Philly Inquirer shared that owner Carolyn Nguyen was closing Revolution Taco to open something she’s been wanting: Carolyn’s Modern Vietnamese. The concept is Cajun Vietnamese food from her Louisiana (!!) childhood —think seafood boils, slow-cooked grits, curry duck with handmade gnocchi.
They’re hiring now, after unforeseen delays, and hoping to open in June.
Chase | 2200-2202 Market St

Big banking energy is coming to Market St. as Chase moves into what was a 7-Eleven that closed around 2019. The building itself was originally constructed for Girard Bank, so Chase is really just keeping the banking vibes alive. Not exactly a hot new restaurant (sorry guys!) but, hey, having a branch right there is pretty damn convenient for anyone commuting through Market West.
Construction is underway as the ETA is Fall 2026!
Frame | 📍 1526 Sansom St

The old Chika Ramen space is finally and literally coming into frame, as Frame is expanding to Rittenhouse. After Chika Ramen shuttered in March 2025, No Name Hospitality grabbed the lease and teased a diner for the space — but Philly Insider confirmed that what’s actually coming is Frame Midtown (RIP, the diner that never was). Hours are shaping up to be dinner daily, with brunch and dinner Friday through Sunday — and the lower level’s moody underground vibe is basically already built in.
ETA is mid-June!
Friday Saturday Sunday Expansion | 📍 261 S 21st St

Your favorite James Beard and Michelin Star winning restaurant is about to get even harder to get into but in the best way. Friday Saturday Sunday is expanding into the rowhouse next door at 2048 Rittenhouse Square, adding an 18-seat chef’s counter with a brand-new, higher-end tasting menu. Think of it as the VIP room of an already-VIP situation. The current dining room and Lovers Bar stay put; this is purely additive. Full details via the Inquirer.
Haraz Coffee Shop |📍1822 Chestnut St

Michigan-based Haraz Coffee House is opening their third Philly location in the Elon Dunbar House, bringing specialty Yemeni coffee to our caffeine-obsessed heart. The space has been empty since ToBox closed in 2019—so we’re trading dress shoes for coffee beans, and honestly? We’re not mad about it. They specialize in the traditional Yemeni coffee roasting with light roasts, plus spiced coffee drinks and date-sweetened options.
The ETA is summer and construction is moving!
Jabal Coffee House | 📍1524 Chestnut St

Our 3rd Yemeni and/or Yemeni influenced (e.g. MOTW) will be Jabal Coffee House. Jabal specializes in premium Yemeni-grown coffee blends sourced directly from Yemen’s high-altitude mountains—the name translates to “mountain” in Arabic—and the cafes are distinctive. The Rittenhouse location’s renderings look equally gorgeous, as you can see here.
ETA is Fall 2026!
Liquorette |📍1534 Sansom St

Sometimes when you open a WineDive downstairs, you go full Jekyll and Hyde and open a high-end cocktail bar upstairs—because why not? Liquorette is positioning itself as a “technique-driven cocktail bar inspired by luxury European cocktail bars, and it’s the perfect contrast: downstairs you’re vibing with natural wine and bagel bites, and upstairs you’re sipping clarified citrus cocktails that require three types of bitters.
They were aiming for early 2026 so we’ll keep you posted on any new news!
Lululemon Expansion | 📍1718 Walnut St

Remember when we told you about Lululemon’s expansion plans? Well, phase one is officially underway as they’ve moved into the former North Face space a few blocks down on Walnut Street while construction continues on the much bigger store.
You can find full details here, and the team said the tentative ETA is June!
McDonald’s |📍1604 Chestnut St

In the comeback story absolutely nobody saw coming—except maybe Ray Kroc‘s ghost—McDonald’s is staging its Rittenhouse return, swooping into the former Portabella space, as the menswear spot had upgraded to bigger, fancier digs just one block over. It’s like watching your ex move back to the neighborhood, except this time we’re actually kind of excited about it because, let’s be honest, sometimes you just need those McNuggets at 11 PM on a Tuesday.
Construction has finally begun, however, it is moving slowly (can we please move faster, MCD?) so we’ll keep you posted!
Mr. Edison |📍 200 S Broad St

The Bellevue‘s return to being the Grand Dame includes a brand new restaurant, Mr. Edison from famous restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow. It’s sliding into the former Polo store on Walnut and keep Flight Club Darts, which is across the street, company. Construction is moving, as you can see here and they’ve begun hiring.
ETA looks like June!
O’Morreys | 📍1720 Sansom St

This was one of the neatest stories from The Inquirer: Chef Kenjiro Omori and partner Biff Gottehrer – who first worked together as sous chefs at Dandelion about a decade ago – are reuniting to launch O’Morrey’s. The building once housed Genji, a Japanese restaurant Omori’s parents ran for nearly 30 years and most recently was home to General Tsao’s House. The concept is elevated bar food paired with a curated cocktail program.
ETA is 2026 but details beyond that are still scarce.
Poke Bowl | 📍1900 Market St

Popular NYC-based brand, Poke Bowl, is about to join Gojo Poke in the area to vie for our poke love! The Hawaiian-style bowl brand is diving into the former Crisp Kitchen eatery that closed back in 2020, and which had a massive footprint. Luckily, the landlord (who also has an empty Starbucks space, by the way) is divvying up the space. Since slicing it cleanly in half Looney Tunes style wasn’t an option, it will need some additional construction TLC.
ETA is early May!
Pvolve | 📍1735 Market St

Market is about to move, literally as fitness brand Pvolve is flexing its way over. The concept, which Jennifer Aniston has been repping since 2023, focuses on longevity, with class formats ranging from sculpt to cardio to heavy weight training. Basically, a workout that’s designed to build you up for the long haul without wrecking your joints in the process. So, the anti-HIIT!
ETA is late 2026.
Somedays Bakery | 📍1601 Walnut St

The paper’s up at the former Republic Bank which in Philly real estate speak is basically the Bat-Signal for “something delicious is coming”—and according to The Inquirer, that something is Somedays Bakery, a NYC-based croissant wonderland that’s about to make your carb-loving heart very, very happy.
See our deep dive here – ETA for our first artisanal croissants bakery is this Summer!
The Pelican Club | 📍225 S 18th St

It’s official: Stephen Starr’s fourth restaurant on the Square now has a name AND a vibe! The Pelican Club is taking over the former Devon Seafood & Grill space with a Greek-rooted, Mediterranean concept inspired by the jet-set Mykonos of the Onassis era. This will be his ninth restaurant in the neighborhood — the man collects Rittenhouse storefronts the way some people collect vinyls.
ETA is October, and we’ve got the full story here.
The Ruxton | 📍210 W Rittenhouse Square
If you appreciate a good steakhouse with enough vintage glamour to make Gatsby jealous, this one’s for you. Per the Business Journal, The Ruxton – a Jazz Age-inspired steakhouse from the team behind Loch Bar – is slated to arrive at The Rittenhouse in Spring 2027, with construction kicking off in Fall 2026.
Think velvet upholstery, walnut millwork, custom Murano glass chandeliers, and those iconic Rittenhouse Square views that turn dinner into an event. And who doesn’t love dinner and a show?!
Tidal Force VR | 📍1510 Chestnut St
Luckily for us, the NYC-to-Philly pipeline is also delivering experiences: Tidal Force VR is taking over the former Kids Foot Locker space with a multiplayer free-roam VR experience where groups of up to 6 battle through custom-built game worlds, per the Business Journal. Think escape rooms meets laser tag, but make it sci-fi. Between Tidal Force, Sandbox VR, and Time Mission, the neighborhood is quietly building out what might be Philly’s unofficial holodeck district — and we’re very much here for it.
ETA is this Fall!
Unnamed Concept @The Irish Pub | 📍2007-11 Walnut St

After 4 decades of last calls, St. Patrick’s Days, and at least one Rocky cameo, the former Irish Pub finally has a new owner. Dan Tsao — the operator behind Chinatown’s acclaimed EMei — closed on the property in May, drawn here by something very 2026: delivery data showing Rittenhouse was already one of his strongest customer bases. The concept is pending, so in the meantime, take a walk down memory lane to celebrate the next chapter of The Irish Pub here.
Current ETA is 2027!
Unnamed Sports Bar @The Josephine | 📍1620 Sansom St

We’ve been keeping an eye on the rumored second-floor sports bar at The Josephine, and the status remains… murky. The concept — craft cocktails, premium bar bites, wall-to-wall screens for your Eagles-obsessed soul — hasn’t exactly been confirmed, but it hasn’t been killed off either. With Bar Cicci now locked in downstairs, the big question is what’s going on with that substantial second floor. Is the sports bar still in play? Did it morph into something else entirely? Is the space getting split?
We’re STILL watching this space like a hawk and will keep you updated!
Unnamed Teddy Sourias Asian Restaurant | 📍1525 Market St

It was about 2 something years ago that Craft Concept’s Teddy Sourias looked at a Penn Center courtyard and thought “yeah, I can work with this.” That became Uptown Beer Garden, and now he’s going bigger with a Japanese-inspired restaurant at 1515 Market that’ll have a massive 4,000-square-foot patio right next door to Uptown. The vibe? Nightlife meets legit cuisine — which, if you know anything about the Craft Concepts Group founder, is kind of his whole thing. It’s been a minute since we first heard about this one, but hey, all good nightlife projects run fashionably late.
This one is a bit of a mystery so we’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything.
Wally | 📍1900 Market St

Yet another NYC export heading our way: Wally is coming to Market! If you’ve never heard of them, think of it as the dental equivalent of a gym: for $249 a year, you get unlimited cleanings, whitening, exams, and x-rays. They use Swiss-made Airflow technology (no scraping!) and they call their spaces “studios” which should tell you something about the vibe. Philly will be one of their first expansions outside the NYC/NJ area, with 2 locations.
ETA and the exact space at 1900 Market is TBD.
Winners Ice Cream | 📍1610 South St

A green-on-cream sign, a winking cone mascot in sneakers, and a tagline that doubles as a dare: “Made by Winners for Winners.” That’s about all we’ve got. Rittrow shared that a scoop shop called Winners has quietly papered the windows of the former La Sera Dolce & Coffee that was there for a hot minute after Chez Hansi quietly closed.
The hours are already posted (daily ’til 9, 10 on weekends) and they have a new Instagram account but no owner attached, no press, nothing. A whole brand, fully designed, with zero digital footprint in 2026?! We’re impressed and a little suspicious, but they’re opening up June 6th so we’ll be sure to report back once we know more!
Spotted something we missed? Have intel on any of these projects, or new ones coming into the neighborhood? Hit us at rittenhouseramblings@gmail.com so we can track its progress together!
