FIFA, But Make It Rittenhouse: 6 Non-Sports-Bar Spots to Watch The World Cup
From permanent projectors, a block party, half-priced apps and more, Rittenhouse is offering different ways to experience the World Cup.
If you’d told us a year ago that we’d be sharing a World Cup watch guide featuring a French wine bar, a cocktail joint, and an outdoor cocktail/beer garden, well, wait — actually, that tracks! After all, this is Rittenhouse.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is here, Philadelphia is a host city, and the neighborhood has responded exactly the way you’d expect — by turning places you’d normally associate with margaritas, bulgogi, and house-made pasta into full-on match-day destinations. They may be missing the sticky floors with stories to tell, the wall-to-wall jerseys, and the multiple screens — but they’ve got good food, good drinks, and a projector someone probably had to Google how to set up.
Here’s where to catch the games — and what to eat and drink while you’re at it.
Sonny’s Cocktail Joint | 📍1508 South St

Picture this: Hot dog in one hand, Natty Boh in the other. This is the way.
Sonny’s has gone full send on Team USA, and honestly, the energy is contagious. They’re showing every U.S. match — and pairing them with the kind of specials that make you want to show up early and stay late. We’re talking $5 hot dogs, sour cream dip and chips, and a $5 citywide (Natty Boh and JT’s Brown, for the uninitiated). It’s giving backyard cookout meets cocktail bar, and we’re SO here for it!
Mission Taqueria | 📍1516 Sansom St, 2nd Floor

Mission Taqueria dropped maybe the most self-aware announcement of the tournament: “We’re a sports bar now. Well, kinda.”
They’ve installed brand-new projectors annnnnddd here’s the kicker: they’re permanent! So even after the final whistle blows on the World Cup, you may — may! — be able to catch Phillies games with a margarita instead of crab fries. (We’re not saying that’s an upgrade, but we’re also not not saying it.)
They’re opening on special off-days for the home matches — Sunday, June 15 and Monday, June 22 — and will have every game on for the full 39 days of the tournament. Tacos, margs, and vibes, as per yuzh.
Superfolie | 📍1602 Spruce St

This one might be our favorite twist: match-day menus that change based on who’s playing.
Throughout the tournament Intermission is popping up at Superfolie with a giant projector, flowing wines and cocktails, AND regionally inspired dishes based on whichever teams are playing that day. France vs. Argentina? Expect the menu to reflect it. That’s the kind of detail that makes you realize Rittenhouse doesn’t just watch the World Cup — it curates it.
Southgate | 📍1801 Lombard St

Southgate is going big for Korea vs. Mexico on June 18 — and by big, we mean shutting-down-18th-Street big!
They’re hosting a full block party from 8PM to 11PM with food and drinks to match. If you want a seat, call ahead or email to reserve — this one’s going to draw a crowd. It’s giving neighborhood-wide watch party, and we’re absolutely here for the communal energy.
Vita | 📍261 S 17th St

Half-priced apps and a patio breeze? Vita’s patio once you walk through that famous red door, has quietly become one of the most pleasant places to watch a match in the neighborhood, and their deal sweetens it.
Wednesday through Sunday, they’re running watch parties with half-priced appetizers during games. The only catch: 10PM matches play on Fridays and Saturdays only. Grab a table, order the apps at half off, and pretend you always knew this was a soccer patio.
Walnut Garden | 📍1708 Walnut St

If you’re interested in Sips specials with a side of world-class fútbol or just a full outdoor lounge experience with a game running in the background, Walnut Garden is your move.
They’re streaming all day long, and their SIPs drink specials on Wednesdays make it dangerously easy to settle in for a double-header. It’s less “watch party” and more “outdoor drinking that happens to include world-class soccer” — and sometimes that’s exactly the vibe you need.
