Cali Brand Vuori Opens Up On Walnut, Cementing The Street – & That Area In Particular – As Athleisure Central

The brand’s offerings, i.e., performance apparel for men and women, play nicely with the other athleisure stores in the area.

After what feels like FOREVER (but was, in reality, less than six – we’re just impatient people), Vuori has opened in the old Scotch & Soda space at 1705 Walnut St.

The launch of a retail store in Philly (and elsewhere) is part of the brand’s expansion plans and, unlike other direct-to-consumer brands, Vuori considers brick-and-mortar “the ultimate manifestation of our brand and our community-centered ethos.” So – more than just a retail store.

The Philly community has been very interested in when Vuori was going to launch and its private opening was well attended, as seen in the videos below from Josh aka newy_215 (thank you so much!)

When you walk into Vuori it feels unlike other athleisure stores on Walnut like Lululemon, Athleta, and Alo Yoga, and it’s NOT just because it’s a different brand in itself.

The first floor is exclusively men’s apparel, and it’s an extensive selection. And in the past few days we’ve been there since their opening, we’ve seen more men shopping there than we’ve seen at Lululemon, one of our other favorite brands. (We love them all, just for different reasons.)

Also, sorry, we don’t have any hard data to support this as it’s a theory. But it’s great to have more shopping options on Walnut for men similar in style and materials to Marine Layer and Faherty – two other stellar Cali, direct-to-consumer brands.

Vuori also utilizes both floors well, and its light and bright vibe is the complete opposite of the dark and moody Scotch & Soda. Not that there’s anything wrong with dark and moody as we’re also fans of Wednesday.

We’re happy to see the Philly Vuori open and the staff is kind and welcoming, so be sure to stop by to say hi. Plus, while you’re there, maybe get something fresh for spring. In our opinion, you can never have enough joggers, tees, shorts, shirts, three-quarter zip-ups, or…
