The Rumors Are True: Women’s “Everyday Luxury” Brand Aritizia Is (Finally!) Coming To Philly
The Canadian brand will fit in perfectly in the area of Walnut St next to Reformation and near Anthropologie at 1725 Walnut Street.
It’s been a long time coming but construction started in earnest in April and now the sign is up, and there are no take-backs at this point: Artizia is coming to Walnut Street in Spring 2025!
Given that their arrival was announced back in June of 2022, we understand why the fashion girlies have been waiting somewhat impatiently for it.
Work began in earnest in April of this year at what used to be a second H&M on Walnut Street (the OG was always on Chestnut Street).
The second H&M closed in the pandemic, and the one on Chestnut closed in 2022 (RIP).
In our opinion, Artizia is coming to a GREAT section of Walnut Street too! It’ll be snuggled between Madewell and Reformation, near beloved Anthropologie, and so many more cool retail stores. Throw in equally cool restaurants nearby, like The Love, A.Kitchen + Bar: again, so many more. Basically, no wallet is safe.
Based in Vancouver, Aritizia took off with young adults in the Washington area looking for clothes that weren’t fast fashion like Zara and H&M; i.e., better quality but fashionable, even if it cost more, but was not too crazy pricy. Enter Aritizia.
Executives call that intersection “everyday luxury,” and it plays out with offerings ranging from US$400 double-breasted wool coats to US$80 mini dresses. That strategy is clicking in America, where Vancouver-based Aritzia began accelerating store openings a few years ago. U.S. sales over the past 12 months through November have gained 78 percent to $1 billion and are now bigger than its Canadian business, where its first store opened in the 1980s.
Financial Post
We’ll continue to share updates as construction progresses. But we’re confident the wait will be worth it.
