New York Based Women’s Clothing & Community Brand M.M.LaFleur Returns To Philly With A Beautiful Boutique On Sansom Street
The brand known for its modern workwear replaces Bella Turka Jewelry at 1700 Sansom Street
That escalated quickly, in the best possible way!
Less than one month after the window signs went up M.M.LaFleur opened up where Bella Turka Jewelry used to be, right next to Kismet Bagels.
M.M.LaFleur’s a good fit for the neighborhood, given the RTO mandates for the biggest employers in the area (cough, Comcast). One of the original D2C brands, it’s best known for its capsule wardrobe for women, i.e., items you can mix and match without worrying about whether or not they work together.
Bella Turka closed in January and it was known for its cheeky street signs and also for packing a TON of gift options into a smallish space, and M.M.LaFleur’s stores tend to be more like a showroom.
The space may be off Walnut but it works for them well, especially after their last foray here back in 2018 where they were situated in The Shops at Liberty Place, pre-Covid.
If you’re familiar with the brand, know that they don’t have just basics: they’ve expanded their color selection and even have pretty prints, in addition to one of their most popular items: the jardigan, a marriage between a jacket and a cardigan.
We chatted with both the store and brand managers who mentioned that the Philly location will be more than a store: they’re planning private events like sip and shops, and networking meetups.
If you’re interested in their community events, chat with them or follow them on Instagram.
