Almyra Is The Newest Mediterranean Restaurant From The Estia Group That’s Opening Up This Year
The modern Greek restaurant will occupy the long-vacant space on the ground floor of The Hyatt Centric.
The corner of Chancellor and 17th Street on the East side has long been a dead space. This fall, that’s changing with the latest offering from The Estia Group, the hospitality company that owns Estia and Pietro’s.
The Philadelphia Business Journal had originally reported mentioned that it was going to be called Anthos. However, judging by the sign on the windows and the new website, it seems that the name will be Almyra. The cuisine is slated to be “modern Greek,” distinguishing it nicely from the OG, Estia, and offering a nice alternative to Spice Finch that’s directly across the street in The Warwick.
We peaked inside, and the space looked sooooo good. See for yourself:
BTW, both the Warwick and the Hyatt Centric attract a large number of flight attendants and pilots, which is the only reason why we think they made a HUGE bar. Seriously – how often do you see a large bar when there are no TVs? Maybe they’ll add some?
Also love the clean aesthetics and comfy-looking sofas.
There’s no hard date for the opening just yet, BUT their Insta is ramping up the teasers, so we’re thinking it’s VERY soon.
UPDATE 11/17: Almyra is opening up in November so make sure you follow their Instagram!
