These 10+ Happy Hours In The Rittenhouse Square Area Aren’t Just Limited To The Bar

It’s time to make more friends – these restaurants offer happy hours that allow you to sit anywhere to take advantage of their deals.

There’s not nothing not to love about a good Philly happy hour. You can literally have a meal and at these happy hours you can also sit anywhere within the restaurant and, in some cases, even outside (looking at you Via Locusta).

Bar Lesieur

What it is: Michael Schulson’s French cocktail and cuisine offering.

Where it is: 1523 Sansom, between 15th & 16th Streets

When it’s happening: Tuesday through Saturday from 4-6pm.

What’s on the menu: $6 wines. $7 cocktails. A $5 beer. But the food choices! A fried chicken sandwich, mac & cheese, a cheeseburger, mushroom toast, fries and a bit more, ranging from $5 to $8! See the full menu here.

Bellini

What it is: An intimate, Italian family-owned restaurant.

Where it is: 220 South 16th Street, between Walnut & Locust

When it’s happening: Weekdays from 4-6pm.

What’s on the menu: $5 bruschetta, $6 home-made meatballs plus calamari, gnocchi, and, of course, calamari. Plus $7 cocktails, $6 wine, and $5 for beer. Menu is here.

El Rey

What it is: Stephen Starr’s homage to Mexican street food.

Where it is: 2013 Chestnut St, between 20th & 21st Streets

When it’s happening: Weekdays from 4-6pm.

What’s on the menu: $1 – $4 food items including salsa and chips, tacos with a vegetarian option, and other small bites. Note that sometimes the tacos sometimes differ from the regular menu. Select margaritas (classic and a special) are $6 while beers are $4-$5. Menu is here.

Patchwork  

What it is: A restaurant in the Hyatt Centric hotel helmed by Akhtar Nawab, a former protege of Tom Colicchio’s.

Where it is: In the Hyatt Centric on Chancellor, between 16th & 17th.

When it’s happening: Weekdays from 4-6pm.

What’s on the menu: Not much but the restaurant does have a nice patio if with a limited view. Some flatbreads for $10, small bites for $6, beer, wine and a cocktail of the day. Menu is here.

Pub & Kitchen

What it is: A beloved neighborhood tavern that works for everyone.

Where it is: 1946 Lombard St, between 19th & 20th Streets.

When it’s happening: Weekdays from 4-6pm.

What’s on the menu: It’s a bit limited with 4 food items at $10, wine for $8, and beer for $4. Menu is here.

Restaurant Aleksandar

What it is: A European restaurant established by a German exchange student.

Where it is: 126 S 19th St (before Sansom)

When it’s happening: Tuesdays – Saturdays from 5-7p.

What’s on the menu: It’s pretty extensive! There are plenty of cocktails, wine and beer (of course), Fois Gras Toast, Deviled Eggs, and a few other small bites. The menu is here.

What it is: The cozy wine bar you’ve possibly passed by many times.

Where it is: 123 S. 18th at the corner of Sansom.

When it’s happening: Sundays (!!) – Thursdays from 4-6pm.

Veda

What it is: A “modern” Indian restaurant with delicious alcoholic drink options. This is NOT your traditional restaurant but the food is always good.

Where it is: 1920 Chestnut, between 19th & 20th Streets

When it’s happening: 5-7pm DAILY. Even on weekends!

What’s on the menu: Some good food options ranging from a $4 goat cheese naan to an $8 lamb donut. Also some interesting cocktails for $9, wine and beer. The menu is here.

Via Locusta

What it is: Michael Schulson’s “modern” Italian restaurant with outdoor seating.

Where it is: On Locust next to Parc.

When it’s happening: Everyday from 4-6pm!

What’s on the menu: It’s very extensive with half sandwiches that will fill you up for just $6 to spritzes for $8. The menu is here – be sure to scroll to the bottom for the happy hour section.
