From Announcement to Arrival: Framebridge Opens In Philly At 113 S 18th St In Less Than 45 Days

The direct-to-consumer brand known for its “Frame Anything” ethos, joins other DTC brands in the neighborhood.

It feels as if no sooner did Framebridge announce they were coming to Rittenhouse, they opened up.

As we shared in September, fellow Rambler Chris tipped us to the fact that the brand known for offering custom framing for anything with transparent pricing and modern style was coming to town, replacing 18th Street Apothecary next to Van Leeuwen. The Rittenhouse Square store feels like a mix of an art gallery and a design studio, which we really liked. We were given the gift of a print from a loved one so we went to Framebridge to explore the store, the experience, and the vibes.

Framebridge has taken custom framing digital-first, but its brick-and-mortar approach caters to those who crave a hands-on experience. We appreciate this because we are good about a lot of things, but picking out a frame for a print is NOT one of those things. So, the timing of receiving the print AND the store opening was serendipity for us.

Almost the entire store is filled with this massive table that allows for four consecutive framing consultations. It’s not a large store, so it works well for what Framebridge offers.

Since we went opening weekend they were giving out sweet treats and tote bags.

The first thing that catches your eye is the right-hand side of the wall, which is full of examples of all the things you can frame. We loved how it was set up like an art studio, filled with things to explore and gawk at.

We particularly dig these cool Philly tarot cards – we found them here! It’s on our holiday list of things we’d like to have from Santa.

One of the opening weekend activities included a woman making neat art profiles.

The first step of a custom framing at Framebridge is seeing what size your print is because that’s how the pricing bracket is determined.

Our print featuring gift to the world that is Moo Deng from artist dsaraiyart fit in the small category. And yes, Moo Deng is a Phillies fan. This is a fact. And framing her beauty cost us $100, so, another fact!

The left-hand side of the store is almost completely full of the different frames that your framing consultant can help you pick out. We went with an Art Deco-style frame.

These drawers hold frames and mats that the consultant can use to demo what your final product will look like. Obviously Moo Deng is a diva and deserves matting around her photo and our consultant showed us different shades that would work with our chosen frame.

They’re also able to immediately print digital photos and have a nice selection of frames next to the door to pop your print in and take to go. Just letting you know in case you need a last minute gift. We’re not judging anyone’s lack of preparedness, just our own, promise!

They sent Moo Deng’s print on her framing journey and can’t wait to show you the final results. Until then, drop in to say hi, browse the cool wall of art, or have a digital pic printed to fit one of the frames available for immediate gratification! We’ll share the final output here when it comes back.
