Pop, Lock & K-Pop It: Kpop Nara Lands At 1521 Walnut Through The End Of The Year

Kpop Nara’s Pop House Philadelphia pop-up has taken over the former Express at 1521 Walnut, and it’s here through the end of the year — album walls, light sticks, plushies, and all.

The K-pop girlies, boy-group girlies, and everyone in between officially have a new obsession — Kpop Nara has landed on Walnut Street, and it is a LOT (in the best way), popping LITERALLY into the former Express Edit at 1521 Walnut through the end of the year.

The Vibe

The branding alone is worth the walk over. Pop House Philadelphia — the pop-up identity Kpop Nara is running under while it’s here — leans into a deep purple, bubbly-typeface look that immediately signals “you are somewhere fun.” The signature Kbear mascot pops up everywhere from the front window to the interior walls, and the whole space feels built for browsing and lingering.

The Merch Wonderland

Okay, so…let’s yap about the goods. Kpop Nara has packed a TON of stuff and the album wall alone is worth just standing and gawking at. Artist merch from the top groups, exclusive albums, official albums, official merch, apparel, tees, vinyls, light sticks, mini albums, collectibles, plushies, stationery, and more are jam-packed from literal wall-to-wall. It’s genuinely fun to just wander and see what you spot.

The light stick section is insanely great ,with everything from BLACKPINK, aespa, IVE, iLLIT, BabyMonster, and BOYNEXTDOOR up top to TXT, WayV, Vanner, and Xdinary The fandom coverage is pretty damn impressive!

Exclusives + Fandom-Specific Sections

One of the fun things to hunt for: the Kpop Nara Exclusive stickers on select albums — like this Le Sserafim “Pureflow” edition, which comes with a bonus photocard (1 of 5) you won’t find on the standard release.

Ateez fans, we see you — there’s a dedicated corner with jerseys from the 2025 “In Your Fantasy” North American tour, keychains, and plush charms.

And because KPop Demon Hunters has officially conquered every corner of pop culture, the Funko Pop lineup goes deep — Rumi, Zoey, Mira, Jinu, and the glow-in-the-dark Derpy are all accounted for.

The Cute Stuff

The plushie, photocard, and collectible sections are — as they must be — an absolute feast. Photocard protector keychains, random boxes, blind-box mini plushies, NCT Wishcat surprise plush keyrings, stress ball keyrings, Derpy plushies from the KPop Demon Hunters universe — all the stuff you didn’t know you needed until you saw it.

Apparel + That Mezzanine

There’s a solid apparel rack too — graphic tees repping various groups, all the good colorways.

And here’s the fun part: the team mentioned they’re hoping to hold events like photocard trading — which would take great advantage of that mezzanine we always forgot Express had (we’re thinking they used it for sales stuff?). Now it’s decked out with playful PHL / POP / KPOP NARA cutouts, and it feels tailor-made for community events.

From Michigan to Walnut Street

Kpop Nara has grown from a small mom-and-pop shop into a national retail chain across 10 cities, starting as a simple dream for founder Lina Yi in her hometown of Michigan. The mission has stayed consistent throughout: Yi has said Kpop Nara was created to share Korean culture and provide a welcoming community for fans. The store frequently partners with artists on customized pop-ups for each album release, giving fans a deeper, more interactive experience, which is exactly the kind of energy the Walnut Street location is bringing to Rittenhouse.

Kpop Nara is open Monday through Saturday 11am to 8pm and Sunday 11am to 6pm through the end of the year (manifesting this to be a permanent location for them, though!) Follow along at @kpopnaraphiladelphia for photocard trading events, restocks, and whatever else pops up on that mezzanine!
