The Sweetest Summer Addition to Rittenhouse: Tipsy Scoop’s Barlour at BOTLD has Arrived
Just in time for summer, Philadelphia’s first barlour is open at 119 S 18th St, and now, you don’t have to choose between a drink and a scoop.
Rittenhouse in the summer is already pretty great.
The park fills up, the patios come alive, the plants stall at the Farmer’s Market gets mobbed (that balcony isn’t going to decorate itself) and the neighborhood has a way of making you want to linger a little longer than planned. And now? We’ve got our own barlour!

The BOTLD x Tipsy Scoop collaboration that gives us Philly’s first barlour is officially open at 119 S 18th Street and the timing couldn’t be better. It’s warm, it’s sunny, and the age-old dilemma of “do I want a drink or do I want ice cream” has been officially retired. After all, why choose when you can have both?
From Bottle Shop to Barlour, Just in Time

Quick refresher if you missed our original post, because we take our job to tell you what’s coming VERY seriously, BOTLD opened their Rittenhouse location back in 2022 and announced plans to convert about 1,000 square feet of their 1,800-square-foot space into a cocktail bar.

The Tipsy Scoop partnership came together almost serendipitously as Tipsy Scoop founder Melissa Tavss was in the neighborhood to check out a nearby vacant shop. From there, as PhillyVoice reported, the expansion now houses the ice cream operation, while BOTLD’s bottle shop continues running in the remaining space.
Summer 2026, you’re in good hands.
Made Fresh, Right Here, Every Day

What makes the Philadelphia location distinct is that the ice cream is made fresh in-store, daily. This isn’t pre-packed and shipped from the mother ship in New York City. The team is producing everything on-site at 18th Street, which means fresher flavor, and the flexibility to rotate and create Philly-specific offerings that you won’t find at any other Tipsy Scoop location.

And as the Philadelphia Business Journal noted, this marks Tipsy Scoop’s first move into the Philly market — so the fresh, in-house model is how they’re planting their flag here from day one.
The Flavors That Were Made for This Weather

The Philly-exclusive lineup includes Philly Phreeze, a spiked water ice that was basically invented for a July afternoon, alongside Bird Gang Blackout, a nod to BOTLD’s Bird Gang Whiskey partnership. The rotating menu also features combinations like Spiked Hazelnut Coffee, Raspberry Limoncello, and Mango Margarita, each clocking in at up to 5% ABV. Legitimately boozy, not just booze-adjacent.

Drinks AND Ice Cream. That’s It. That’s the Deal.
The idea behind the barlour concept is that the cocktails and the ice cream aren’t just sharing a space — they’re designed to play off each other. Work through a tasting flight of boozy flavors, pair a scoop with something from BOTLD’s deep spirits lineup, or settle in for both.

They’ve even put together proper tasting sheets so you can evaluate each flavor the way you’d work through a whiskey flight; a small touch that makes the whole thing feel more like an experience than a quick stop.

The colorful “PHILLY” mural inside makes clear this isn’t a generic franchise. It’s built for this city, open just in time for the best season to enjoy it, and conveniently located on one of Rittenhouse’s most walkable corners. And judging by the line on opening day, everyone is just as excited to have them in the neighborhood as we are!
