Views, Vibes, and Studios: CityCoHo’s Glow-Up Is Complete

The revamped co-working space at 2401 Walnut now features a podcast studio, photography studio, and those rockstar city views that most co-working spaces dream about.

The glow-up at 2401 Walnut Street is complete.

If you’ve been wondering what’s been happening behind the former Wharton Grad School student life center space, well, wonder no more: CityCoHo has completed a major renovation and transformation. The co-working space—which calls itself “Philly’s Nexus”—has emerged from its refresh with some seriously impressive upgrades that go way beyond your typical desk-and-wifi situation.

The professional lobby at 2401 Walnut Street sets the tone before you even reach CityCoHo on the upper floors.

First things first: let’s talk about those views. We cannot emphasize this enough—co-working spaces almost never get great views. You’re usually stuck looking at another office building or, if you’re lucky, a courtyard. But CityCoHo? They’ve got panoramic views looking out over University City that are absolutely stunning, especially at night when the city lights up.

This is the rockstar view CityCoHo members get to work with daily—looking out over University City’s illuminated skyline. Co-working spaces simply don’t get views like this.

The Industrial-Chic Aesthetic

The renovation has transformed the entire space into something sleek and modern, with polished concrete floors, clean white walls, and that industrial-chic aesthetic that makes you feel like you’re working somewhere important. The conference room we peeked into featured a gorgeous oval table with golden burl wood finishes that could be a work of art itself.

Clean lines and subtle purple accent lighting give CityCoHo’s corridors a gallery-like feel that’s anything but your typical office space.
Polished concrete floors and glass-walled offices create an open, airy feeling throughout the co-working space.

Content Creator Paradise

Here’s where CityCoHo gets really interesting—they’ve added amenities that you definitely won’t find at your average co-working space. They now have a full podcast studio complete with professional microphones and acoustic cork walls with mood lighting. Whether you’re launching your own show or need to record interviews, it’s all set up and ready to go. Pretty much giving NPR vibes without the tote bag membership drive.

And if you’re more of a visual creator, they’ve also installed a photography studio with professional lighting setups and backdrops. Content creators, small business owners who need product shots, or anyone who wants to step up their visual game—this is pretty much unheard of in co-working spaces.

The Practical Stuff

The location at 2401 Walnut Street is super accessible, and—this is important for anyone working in or near Center City—parking is actually manageable. The space itself feels incredibly roomy and open, which is such a relief when you’ve been working from cramped coffee shops or your apartment where your “office” is really just your kitchen table.

Fuel for the Hustle

Speaking of amenities, there’s more good news coming: Vita Sana PHL, a healthy fast-casual restaurant, is opening right next door in the space formerly occupied by Good Karma Cafe. Think açaí bowls, fresh salads, wraps, and coffee; basically everything you need to fuel those long work sessions without having to venture far from your desk.

What This Means for Philly’s Work Scene

What we love about CityCoHo’s approach is that they’re clearly thinking about what the modern worker actually needs. They’re creating a space where you can work, record, create content, grab healthy food, and do it all while looking out at some pretty incredible city views. Like if a traditional office and a creative studio had a baby, and that baby grew up to be really, really cool.

The renovation represents a major investment in making Philadelphia’s co-working scene more competitive and interesting. Whether you’re a freelancer, a small business owner, or part of a remote team that needs occasional in-person meeting space, CityCoHo’s new setup offers something pretty unique in the neighborhood, and, honestly, pretty unique for Philly overall.
