Jewelry Darling Catbird Has Officially Landed, Bringing Its “Finest Fine” Pieces To Rittenhouse
The cult-favorite “itty-bitty” vintage-inspo and whimsical brand brings its Instagram-worthy aesthetic and ethically-sourced sparkle to 103 S 18th St.
If Itty bitty Gritty should need some itty bitty jewelry because, accessories make the outfit, then we know EXACTLY where he should go!
Because, as promised (love a business that makes their ETA!) Brooklyn jewelry darling Catbird, a brand that offers jewelry made from 95% recycled gold & recycled diamonds, has officially opened its doors in the city of champions, and let us tell you, the space is absolutely chef’s kiss.

Like many of our Ramblers, we swung by on their Opening Day, and the store is exactly what you’d expect from a brand that’s mastered the art of making delicate jewelry feel like tiny pieces of wearable art.

The ornate tin ceiling practically screams vintage charm, while the black and white checkered floors give major apothecary vibes. Starched white-lace curtains…cabinets that looks like it belongs in your cool aunt’s brownstone… mirrors that somehow make everything look more romantic…basically, wallets can’t possibly be safe here if their styles appeal to you.

The magic is truly in the details here. Every surface feels curated, from the rich marble countertops displaying their signature “itty-bitty” pieces to those gorgeous vintage-style mirrors etched with the Catbird script. It’s giving Victorian jewelry box meets modern Philly cool, and we are absolutely living for it.

Opening day drew in a pretty good crowd – that glass bell jar showcasing a delicate charm necklace alongside a “15% off Catbird chains & bracelets when you purchase a charm” sign had people lingering and seriously considering their layering strategies. Because honestly, it feels that once you start with Catbird’s chains, it’s impossible to stop at just one. We’re already on the case and will report back with findings!

But here’s where things get really exciting: they’ve set up their permanent jewelry welding station right in the front window area, creating an almost theater-like experience. Watching the delicate process of welding chains and bracelets directly onto customers has become its own form of entertainment, with passersby stopping to watch the magic happen. We’ve been back a few times, and it’s always busy!

The jewelry displays are pure perfection. Those carefully arranged chains – from delicate gold whispers to statement silver pieces – are laid out like a jewelry lover’s fever dream. Each piece catches the light differently, creating this almost hypnotic effect that makes you want to try on literally everything.

For those keeping track of Rittenhouse’s great jewelry scene, Catbird brings something genuinely special: It’s the jewelry equivalent of that perfect vintage that plays well with other pieces. They also have a unique selection of vintage-inspired gifts, such as candles that are reminiscent of a tarot deck, and lip balms meant to evoke the taste of Negroni…

We’re thrilled Catbird has arrived, and now that we’ve explored the store, we get why it has such a devoted following. Now excuse us while we go calculate how many of those delicate chain necklaces we can reasonably justify purchasing (for research, obviously.)

P.S. Follow them on Insta for news and promotions!
