Cue The (Inevitable) Puppy Eyes – Dog Ice Cream Store Salty Paws Is Moving Out Of Rittenhouse

The #1 ice cream store of choice for our four-legged friends will be greatly missed, even though it’s moving not too far away.

In news that would make a dog sad IF they understood, doggie ice cream store Salty Paws is moving out of the neighborhood by end of June.

Their building has been up for sale for some time now, so a new lease was never in the cards. The building that used to house Kitchen Kapers (RIP) next door just wrapped their sale. Since the demolition permit they acquired from last year is still valid (it’s valid for 3 years: we checked!) we’re expecting some action to happen this year.

We will miss Salty Paws GREATLY and we expect to see many confused pups sitting outside their closed doors. However, we’re stoked for owner Karla and her lovely team as we heard that their location on South Street, on the other side of Broad, will be MUCH bigger and offer DIY grooming stations! They’ll also be closer to Seger Dog Park, so…long walks ftw!

We’re not sure where the other tenant will land, but we’re confident that she, as a psychic, once again saw this coming as she used to be above Kitchen Kapers!
