Get Ready For A Barrage Of Food Options: Delivery, Dine-In & Take-Out Brand Wonder Launches This Summer

The “Amazon of Food” concept featuring dishes from celebrity chefs is planning an August launch at 1600 Chestnut Street.

Having options is always good. But food options? That’s even better! And luckily the universe heard us: Wonder, a unique concept that offers over (20!!) restaurant options at any given time is coming to Rittenhouse this August.

Sliding smoothly into the former space of WSFS Bank, which in turn moved into the former Beneficial Bank location, the fast-casual concept will be a great addition to a neighborhood that is big on delivery food as Wonder prides itself on fast delivery.

For customers, it’s akin to ordering from a high-end food hall, mixing dishes from multiple restaurants in one order. A dedicated fleet of couriers delivers food within a tight, six-minute radius (10 in the suburbs) in order to preserve freshness. Since Wonder owns all the pieces, from cooking to final delivery, it’s able to tightly control the entire process.

What we think is more exciting than fast delivery (although we REALLY like fast delivery) is that they’ll have rotating chefs and cuisine options which we have to admit, it’s kind of fun to be able to try different things we’d have to travel for:

It serves fried chicken from Mississippi legend Mr. D’s 1,200 miles from its roadside restaurant; hummus, shawarma, and kebab from Washington, D.C.’s Maydan, once named among the best new restaurants in the country by multiple media outlets; and brisket and pork ribs from Tejas Barbecue, a one-time side project from a chocolatier-turned-pitmaster outside of Houston.

The Rittenhouse page is already up on their site and we’ll keep you posted on it’s progress!
