Rittenhouse’s First Chocolate Store Is Finally Here: Neuhaus Opens On Walnut Street
The Belgium brand brings its sweet treats to a perfectly sized “jewel box” store in the Icon apartment building at 1616 Walnut Street.
Old City has Shane Confectionery. Midtown Village has Kilwins. Now, Rittenhouse finally has a dedicated chocolate store with the arrival of Neuhaus, a well-known Belgian chocolate brand, at 1616 Walnut St.
The location is within a key shopping area: next to Paper Source and across the street from Apple, making it a nice option to throw in a sweet treat with a gift. Or, the chocolates are the gift. Again, options!
Neuhaus does a fabulous job of making the most of the “jewel box” retail space which has been vacant since Townhome, a home goods/jewelry boutique left back in 2019 or so.
There’s a great selection of sweet Belgian treats besides just chocolate, like cookies – covered in chocolate. Basically, Neuhaus is a chocolate lover’s dream place.
The nice part about chocolate, truffles, pralines, and chocolate-covered cookies in neat boxes? They look very pretty stacked up and can keep plenty of selections available for customers.
It’s kind of surprising how much inventory Neuhaus can squeeze in so elegantly but, given the holidays are coming up, we’re grateful. Because…options are nice!
If a box seems like too much to commit to, especially if you’re not familiar with their chocolates, the good news is that there is a lovely, mouth-watering display of their truffles and chocolates at the register area.
To say we’re excited is an understatement as we happen to be chocoholics and Neuhaus chocolates are deliciously rich. We’re looking forward to making frequent visits. For research purposes, of course.
